Now theres a new monster mod making waves and its leaving players scared to go back into the sea of Subnautica. You can watch the entire conversation with Kalina below. From exotic Coral Reefs the color of rainbows to the sulfur spewing volcanic clouds of the Lava Zone ( an area perfect for thermal plants ), the game really captures that terrifying alien world beneath the waves. It’s unclear if future projects will have any relation to the Subnautica series, though Kalina added that he feels confident that “there will be more Subnautica someday.” As for Subnautica: Below Zero, he says that Unknown Worlds will continue to provide post-launch support after it launches tomorrow for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S. It’ll be interesting to see how people react.”

So that’s, you know, in a totally different space.

“There is another project at the studio, which hasn’t been announced, that’s a little bit further along as well. “I don’t think we want to just be like a one-trick pony,” Kalina said. Kalina further added that Unknown Worlds has a project that is “looking at new genres” outside of the crafting-based survival gameplay we’ve seen thus far. Speaking with The Escapist in a new interview, project lead David Kalina explained that the team is looking at “new worlds” to explore in the future and has started to “poke around” with some new, early-stage project ideas.
